As 2009 comes to a close, join us in toasting Spudnik Press’ first calendar year in a space dedicated solely to printmaking. Artists, supporters of the arts, friends, and fellow printmakers are invited to celebrate community-driven art and art-making practices. Share a toast to the future of Spudnik, enjoy live music, and a potluck of hors d’oeuvres provided by Spudnik printers. Every guest will take home a piece of handmade art!
Thanks to the support of printers and art-lovers alike, 2009 has been a very prosperous year for Spudnik:
- Over 175 printers have used the space
- 50+ students were taught a variety of printmaking processes
- Our Open Studio sessions have expanded to three times weekly
- We continue to add monthly members who print around the clock at Spudnik
- Participation in Renegade Craft Far and Goffo at the 2009 NEXT Fair/Art Chicago
Through combined efforts, we have been able purchase a new computer, fire proof cabinet, flat files, new tables and a drying rack for Spudnik. Join us at The Hashbrown to thank those who have contributed to making all of this and more possible. We hope to see you there!
