Eric Unger
Eric Unger hails from Upstate New York. He has lived in Vermont, and currently makes Chicago his home. He is a singer/songwriter/guitarist, and plays bass in the rock band Kate Renegade. He also writes poetry, makes books, and collages.
Eric Unger’s songs carry through them a strong melodic line. They display deft pop instincts, although they are not pop songs, per se. Instead they mine deep wells of thought and feeling, operating from a level just above or below everyday concerns. It is the melody, and the considered and poetic words that enact the melody – that drive the feeling at the heart of the songs. The song is the location where more can happen, where more is possible.
